Research Abstract

Here is an abstract that I wrote for a research paper about a study conducted on how social media can be beneficial in first-year college students.

EXAMINING SOCIAL ADJUSTMENT TO COLLEGE IN THE AGE OF SOCIAL MEDIA: FACTORS INFLUENCING SUCCESSFUL TRANSITIONS AND PERSISTENCE

This research study surveyed a sample of students at a private college in the Midwest to determine the role that traditional adjustment markers and certain aspects of Facebook play in students adjusting to social life within college. Additionally, those factors may also predict the students’ future enrollment. The purpose of the study was to determine how these markers help students integrate into the college social scene and how they form connections. The results of this study are important because it contributes to the studies of how technology and social media helps students’ adjustment to college as opposed to the claims of social media producing negative outcomes to student success.

Perry's Department Store Buying Simulation

This is the final project of a buying and merchandising plan for a simulation course. The purpose of the course was to practice what the process would be like to be a buyer for a luxury department store.
